Big Sexy Love

Big Sexy Love is about Olive, who really doesn’t like change. She lives in a small town, has a routine life, is satisfied with her job, and not particularly bothered about men. It’s just how she likes things, no hassle.
The problem is, her best friend is dying, and wants Olive to find her one-time lover before it is too late. However, the fella is somewhere in New York, and Olive has never once left home.
Can Olive conquer her dread of change, and forsake her safe, humble life, to execute her friend's dying request?

Big Sexy Love is a romance full of uncontrollable buoyancy and hope, with a sexual tension and friendship you'll never forget. It is a touching read but is sure to engender all kinds of emotions.

Be prepared to be both sad, and to laugh aloud at this romantic comedy. It is a joy to read, quite brilliant.

Kindle Romances: My Husband's Wives

Kindle Romances

Title: My Husband's Wives
Author: Faith Hogan
Stars: 4

My Husband's Wives:
My Husband's Wives follows the lives of several women who are connected, one way or another, to Paul.
The story traces, how they meet Paul and how he affects their lives and in due course, how they respond to each other.

My Husband's Wives is an interesting story - with sufficient sub-plots to keep you engaged, and what could easily turn into loose ends, are tied before the final page.

It is written with good characterisation and makes a captivating read. If you enjoy a tale about extended families then this could be the book for you.

Mint Juleps and Justice (Adams Grove, #5)
Mint Juleps and Justice is a pleasant read. Sometimes you need a conventional love story to get you through a wet day and this book did that for me.

The writing is smooth and keeps you effortlessly involved. Overall, it's a nice, stress-free read. It's about genuine people, with a heartfelt rapport and authentic problems that can only be conquered together.

Tangled Beauty is rather unexpected. This is not just a frothy story about Sinclair feigning a relationship with her homosexual, best friend Jesse, and instead tumbling in love with his brother. There is mystery, suspense, and a surprise ending.

An interesting read.

Kindle Romance: Lost to You by AL Jackson

Kindle Romance

Title - Lost to You
Author - AL Jackson
Stars - 4.5

Lost to You:
Going to New York City has always been a dream of Elizabeth’s. Everything she does is to make it there.

Coached to assume responsibility for his father's law firm, studying at Columbia University is an expected step for Christian.

Neither of them are looking for more from life up to the point when they meet at a café table after being thrown together as study partners.

Christian fancies Elizabeth from the start, but she knows better than to give into the powerful chemistry that flows between them. Predictably, she finds it hard to stay away.

The central characters of ‘Lost To You’ are likeable. Christian sizzles with sex appeal, Elizabeth is tough and unfettered. It becomes evident from the start that there is great magnetism between them, yet for some reason, there is a hesitancy to take the liaison further. ‘Lost To You’ has conflict, friction, and romantic assertions of love and desire.

‘Lost To You’ is an interesting book from beginning to the end, demonstrating that no matter what happens, there is always a chance of finding happiness. This is a good read.

Kindle Romance: Burn by Dawn Steele

Kindle Romance

Title - Burn
Author - Dawn Steele
Stars - 3

Burn:
Abby has a history she does not intend to disclose to anyone, not even striking 21-year-old Devon.
When she ends in his doorway on a rainy night, penniless, losing blood and with burn marks on her hands, Devon takes her in. He nurtures, clothes and feeds her in a turn of events that changes their lives forever.

However, Devon, an artist during the day, is a hustler by night to make ends meet. His punters are assorted but very rich. A number of them are cruel, as shown by the scars on his torso.

Abby is carried into Devon's capricious world, but a disaster wallops them that neither could have forecast.

The central characters of Burn are shadowy and keep you turning the pages. They have mysteries but form an attachment with a rewarding relationship.

Burn is not about a strong heroine. Abby is a damaged girl on the run. The big problem is the plot seems to end in the middle of the story, presumably to encourage us to buy the next book.

There are a few editing issues, and some readers might be distracted by the unusual narration of 3rd person present tense. This is not a generally accepted format for romance - having said that, the meaning of ‘novel’ is something new. It might catch on.

Kindle Romance: 'A Beautiful Struggle' by Lilliana Anderson

Kindle Romance

Title     - A Beautiful Struggle
Author -  Lilliana Anderson
Stars    - 3

A Beautiful Struggle:
Katrina’s life is packed with university studies, training for triathlons and a casual job. There is no space in her calendar for a relationship, especially after the disaster of her last one.

She focusses on her job, education and working out - until the dynamic Elliot, a junior solicitor from work, pays special attention to her.

Katrina battles with her emotions and her intellect and has the dilemma of finding where her heart really sits.

Product Details

A Beautiful Struggle is an okay read, but not my sort of book. I have a few issues with the physical violence in it, and what I took to be the central male character suddenly becomes a secondary character, which I thought odd.

Notwithstanding, A Beautiful Struggle was reasonably paced with fair dialogue.

Kindle Romance: 'Surrender' by Ella Ardent

Kindle Romance

Title     - Surrender
Author - Ella Ardent
Stars    - 3.5

Surrender:
Mike is resolved to put his moments of decadence at the Plume behind him and to win around his cautious work-colleague Joanna. When he discovers that Joanna intends to live out her sex-slave dream in the Plume, he asks his friend Rex to safeguard her there.

However, Rex believes that Joanna’s abandonment will guarantee his own. It appears that all and sundry will achieve their dream except Mike, but infatuations don’t always follow a planned course within the Plume

 Product Details

Surrender is short but reasonably good. It would be improved by  a professional edit as there are a few typos and grammar problems. Taken as a whole it is interesting and you become involved with the central characters. The imagery is acceptable, there is crisis, a small amount of romantic involvement, and a fair quota of sex.

Kindle Romance: Sexy Berkely by Dani Lovell

Kindle Romance

Title     - Sexy Berkely
Author - Dani Lovell
Stars    - 3.5

Sexy Berkely:
A long-distance love affair with a sizzling US entrepreneur is definitely not part of Beatrice’s plan when the day ends with her booking a last minute getaway to glamorous Southern California.
Bea's conviction is that long distance relationships never work, so how could she ever consider a spine-tingling introduction at 35,000 feet, It could lead to nothing other than a holiday romance.

Daniel is the smouldering bachelor, determined to prove her wrong.

 Product Details

Sexy Berkely is almost a love fest between the central protagonists. The sex scenes are steamy, the dialogue entertaining, but there is a definite overuse of the word 'baby'. Maybe a professional editor would have picked up on this and a few other typos. Despite this, it was a reasonable story.
